I love being an artist, however, at times it has also made me feel different and detached.  Through my art I feel a freedom to create an interconnection between things that are dissimilar and disconnected.  Using yarn and fabric allows me to explore my options, free of preconceptions and open to possibilities while creating something unpredictable yet intertwined as one.  Working with yarn gives me the liberty to make texture, dimension and generates a softness that encourages one to touch.  Where the fabric supports the structure and stability it also allows the yarn to be independent and still connected.  This combination stimulates curiosity and creates calmness in my abstract work.  Hopefully it will encourage others to see how things that are different can connect in another way and still embrace their differences.
